• Park receives award for the second time following Ad Age’s 2017 Women to Watch
  • Christine Park of Edelman Digital Korea named ‘Innovation of the Year’ by Campaign Asia

[June 12, 2018 – Seoul, Korea] Edelman Korea, a part of the world’s largest global PR agency (MD, SB Jang) announced that Christine Park, the Executive Director at Edelman Digital Korea, has been awarded ‘Innovation of the Year’ by Campaign Asia-Pacific at its prestigious 2018 Women Leading Change Awards gala in Singapore. Park was the only Korean of all the awardees.

The 2018 Women Leading Change Awards, hosted by the Campaign Asia-Pacific on the 31st of May, sets out to honor the female changemakers, leaders, achievers and rising stars in the media, advertising and marketing industry. It announced 18 winners from 10 award categories including Vision Leader, Business Leader, Creative Captain, and Innovation of the Year. The competition has been fierce with hundreds of applicants from 15 countries. Among the winners, Christine Park gained the spotlight as the sole Korean award recipient.

The Innovation of the Year award aims to recognize individual women for their innovation which they have initiated, launched and developed. In addition to Christine Park, May Seaw, Global Story Director at Facebook, and Vivian Wang, CMO at iQIYI, also received the Innovation of the Year award at the gala.

Christine Park is well-known for her innovative capacity and leadership, with which she successfully managed the team to record sales growth of 350% in three years, establish EDK Lab – a digital trend research unit, and host an annual digital showcase to 100+ clients. Both the quantitative and qualitative growth of Edelman Digital Korea are led by Park and prove her ability to lead the digital transformation in the advertising and marketing industry.

This is Park’s second consecutive year winning an award honoring her as a female leader of the global advertising/PR industry. She has previously been recognized by Ad Age as one of the ‘Women to Watch 2017’ of the Asia-Pacific region’s marketing/advertising industry.

Campaign Asia-Pacific, the host of the awards, stated, “We aim to encourage and recognize outstanding female leadership in the industry and discuss agenda on gender and diversity with an annual awards gala and conference. We expect more young leaders to play active parts by following the female pioneers.”

Christine Park, Executive Director at Edelman Digital Korea, expressed, “I am truly honored to receive the Innovation of the Year award. It is always important to have disruptive thinking and not be afraid of independent change.” She continued, “I’ll strive to make more opportunities for younger females by using Collective Intelligence that combines their strengths altogether.”
