SB Jang

SB Jang was appointed Managing Director of Edelman Korea in June 2011 to oversee Edelman’s overall operations in Korea. Under his leadership, Edelman Korea has expanded both in size and influence, solidifying its market leadership as the largest multinational communications consultancy in the country.

Considered an expert in the areas of Korean media relations, and issues and crisis management, SB provides senior counsel across the firm’s client engagements, in addition ti advising the senior leadership of various multinational firms operating in Korea and large domestic corporations like Samsung Electronics and Lotte. 

Previously, SB served as Executive Vice President for Prain, one of the biggest local public relations firms. Prior to Prain, he was Head of Communications for Visa International Korea and over his eight-year tenure, the company aggressively expanded its business in Korea and went through its global IPO. He played an integral role in managing Visa’s public affairs as well as corporate communications engagements, both of which helped Visa manage regulatory issues and re-position itself as a listed company.

His other previous roles include working at Burson-Marsteller Korea as a client leader in public affairs and issues management, and heading investor relations for a local software company during its IPO in Korea. Over the years, in addition to his substantial media and issues and crisis experience, SB has also provided counsel in investor communications and internal communications related to company restructuring matters.

SB began his career as a public affairs officer at the New Zealand Embassy, Seoul in the early 1990s.
